Family Fun Day Medowie NSW

On Saturday 29 May 2010, Medowie Baptist Community Church held a Fun Day for families (including grandparents) impacted by Autism, Asperger and related neurological disorders. About 150 such family members came and were blessed with an afternoon of fun for the kids with horse rides, sausage sizzle, fairy floss, jumping castles and more. Parents, grand parents and carers were blessed with free massage and a chance to connect with other families facing similar difficulties. About 50 Medowie Baptist Community Church members assisted on the day. Pastor Chris McRae, Team Leader of Medowie Baptist Community Churchspoke a tribute to grand parents honouring them for their important role and presence in families in general and more specifically their contribution to families impacted by Autism, Asperger and similar special needs. Grand parents were treated to a free meal and honoured with a thank you ribbon. One grand mother who is the sole carer for her severely autistic grand son wept with gratitude after a free massage saying that no one had ever given her such love and care. Final thanks for the day was publicly given to the Lord who answered our prayers to hold off the rain for the duration of this wonderful out door event. All in attendance joined in the applause for our marvelous Father in heaven.
