Erina Community Baptist Church - Australia
Our church this year distributed morning tea to eight schools on the Central Coast, the Police Station at Gosford, Ward 6 at Gosford Hospital, Medical Rehabilitation unit at North Gosford Private Hospital and East Gosford Fire station. They were also presented with a Thanksgiving Day certificate of appreciation and the letter from the Prime Minister and Governor General. Also we included a "Thank You" ribbon for each member of staff. These people expressed deep appreciation fof this. The Police particularly commented that they had had a week of complaints and negative feed back so welcomed our positive and encouraging gesture. Putting the boxes of cakes together on the Thursday night at the church was a real community event, giving us many challenges but the good humour of all present was noticeable. We all enjoyed the fellowship of pulling together. Indeed it was a community building exercise. Another group went to Woodport Nursing Home where they sang and entertained the residents, bringing them love and cheer. On Sunday morning the worship service was dedicated to thanking God and thanking one another. During the service we honoured grandparents and our primary producer, who is a member of our church. The grandparents were given a book mark with a scripture quote on one side and a gum leaf on the other. These were all hand made by the worship leader. Our primary producer received a daily devotional book written by the author of "Faith like Potatoes."
